Close to 800 vacancies in a leading semiconductor manufacturing company in Taiwan are open to qualified Filipino workers, an official said Friday.

Labor Attaché Fidel Macauyag of the Philippine Labor Office in Taichung, Taiwan, says Silicon Precision Industries Co. Ltd. or SPIL in Taichung City needs 779 additional workers in its factories.

“The vacancies are contained in the Job Orders of SPIL that were submitted to POLO-Taichung this week for verification”, Macauyag said.

SPIL is one of the leading providers of comprehensive semiconductor assembly and test services in the world.

Its products include advanced lead frame and substrate-based packages, which are widely used in computers, tablets, cellular phones, set-top boxes and LCD monitors.

SPIL also manufactures wearable devices, smart appliances, IoT, fingerprint sensors, smart cars, VR/AR, artificial intelligence, drones, smart speakers, digital cameras and video game consoles, among other things.

On Oct. 6, 2020, POLO-Taichung awarded a Plaque of Recognition to SPIL for employing more than 3,500 Filipino workers, with a free placement fee, monthly broker’s service fee, medical and other fees.

Macauyag said they were grateful to the company for its continuing preference for Filipinos to be part of its workforce.

He expressed hope for an early easing of the travel protocols and limitation on the number of inbound passengers in Taiwan so that the prospective Filipinos awaiting deployment in the Philippines may immediately work in Taiwan.

The POLO-Taichung advised interested applicants to apply at the following Philippine Recruitment Agencies: Grand Placement & General Services Corp., MIP International Manpower Services Inc., and JS Contractor Inc.
