Applications for CA, CTA S’bayan posts extended

Judicial and Bar Council has extended the deadline for the filing of applications for 13 positions in the judiciary and the Legal Education Board (LEB) until September 25 to give aspirants more time to secure pertinent documents during this time community quarantine arising from the coronavirus pandemic.

In an advisory, the JBC announced that the deadline for submission of application and documentary documents has been moved from August 25 to September 25.

The JBC will be accepting applications and nominations for the six vacant Court of Appeals associate justice posts; one associate justice at Sandiganbayan; two associate justices at Court of Tax Appeals; chairmanship of the LEB and three regular member posts of LEB.

Originally, the submission of applications was only from July 11 to Aug. 25, but the Council decided to extend the deadline until Sept. 25 after they “received requests for the extension of the deadline for the submission of application documents for the said positions owing to the difficulty in securing documents in view of the imposition of a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) in the National Capital Region and in nearby provinces from 4 to 18 August 2020.
