More private companies want to help Lanao del Sur’s Marawi City rebuild its mosques heavily damaged during a five-month armed conflict between government troops and the terrorists in 2017.

Housing czar Eduardo del Rosario said the Task Force Bangon Marawi has allocated P105 million for the reconstruction of Dansalan Bato mosque that was assessed to be “structurally unsound” after the siege.

The reconstruction of the historic Dansalan Bato Ali Mosque, one of the oldest masjids in Marawi’s most affected area or ground zero provides new hope for all Maranaos, he said.

“We have already secured donations for the reconstruction of the Dansalan Bato Mosque. There are 31 mosques within the most affected area and we intend to rehabilitate all of them,” Del Rosario said.
