Camp Olivas, Pampanga—The regional police headquarters is developing an ‘ecopark’ in a vacant space here that would obviously change the atmosphere and scenery of the male-dominated police camp, a top official of the Police Regional Office 3 said in a statement.

The project, according to Police BGen. Rhodel Sermonia, director of PRO3, is like a breath of fresh air with the present situation we are experiencing due to the deadly novel corona virus and the extended enhanced community quarantine.

Sermonia said the Eco Park is Central Luzon police contribution to "Kaligkasan" (Kaligtasan at Kalikasa), a PNP program in which the objective is protecting and preserving the environment and at the same time create a tourist attraction inside the police camp.

“Planting trees is our own little way of helping protect our environment aside from beautifying the surroundings of the camp, the trees would help in providing fresh air to us and the surrounding communities,” said Sermonia.

On Wednesday, Sermonia led the tree-balling of 100 royal palm trees to be planted at the eco park project. The policemen also planted two canary palm trees at the site making it more refreshing to the eye of the camp occupants.
