CalCheese aids fight against COVID-19

Amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, the makers of cheddar cheese wafer CalCheese have released products to support frontliners who are in thick of efforts to arrest the COVID-19 outbreak.

Partnering with GMA Foundation, CalCheese provided an initial P1 million worth of assorted biscuit products, including Malkist, Valmer, Wafello and Superstar.

It also teamed up with various non-government organizations like Frontline Feeders PH, a group made up of doctors and restauranteurs who sent out the products to National Capital Region hospitals, including the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, Philippine General Hospital, San Lazaro Hospital and the Lung Center of the Philippines.

The effort of CalCheese is part of the P6 mkll worth of product donations from Indonesian firm PT Mayora Indah Tbk, makers of well-loved brands Kopiko, Energen and Le Minerale.

“What we are going through is a hardship we won’t wish for any generation. We need to take each day at a time while remaining hopeful. Our efforts are geared towards assisting the real heroes in the frontline and wish that somehow, we make their day a little brighter," said Coleen Ducusin, marketing manager for biscuits, chocolates and candies.

CalCheese also extended a 20 percent discount to local government units on all their biscuits from April onwards amid the extended ECQ.
