Party-list wants ROTC scrapped

The militant Kabataan Party-list on Monday called for the scrapping of the mandatory implementation of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program in schools.

In a statement, the Kabataan Party-list said Congress was scheduled to tackle the controversial bill of mandatory ROTC on Monday.

“All students will be required to undergo the  mandatory military training of ROTC in schools,” said the Kabataan Party-list.

“During previous years, under the ROTC program, several young people have died, experienced harassment and different kinds of abuse,” the group said.

“Let’s fight together not to make ROTC a mandatory! No to Mandatory

"ROTC! Defend Academic Freedom!,” said the Kabataan Partylist.
