A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The tectonic tremor struck at 5:54 p.m. about 28 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos town with a depth of 186 km, PHIVOLCS added in a statement.
Instrumental Intensity IV was felt at General Santos City, while Intensity III was felt at Kiamba, Alabel and Malungon in Sarangani and in Tupi, South Cotabato.
Intensity I was also felt at Kidapawan City and Koronadal City.
There is no expected damage to structures but aftershocks may occur, PHIVOLCS said.
