President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Vice President Sara Duterte, Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Senators, and current Cabinet officials received “high” ratings for approval and trust in a nationwide survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD).
The national “Boses ng Bayan” survey released on March 23 revealed that 88 percent of Filipinos are happy with the job performance of President Marcos, while 86 percent are satisfied with Vice President Duterte. President Marcos and Vice President Duterte received 90 percent and 92 percent trust ratings, respectively.
The independent and non-commissioned survey also covered the trust and performance ratings of other top government officials, namely Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, with 60 percent approval and 65 percent trust ratings; House Speaker Martin Romualdez, with 60 percent approval and 63 percent trust ratings.
The approval ratings of President Marcos and Vice President Duterte have substantially increased by +5 percentage points since the December 2022 survey. The approval ratings of Zubiri and Romualdez also increased significantly by +4 and +7 percentage points, respectively.
Dr. Paul Martinez, Executive Director of the RPMD, stated that Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) ranked first among Cabinet officials with an outstanding approval rating of 85 percent and a trust rating of 90 percent. The approval and trust ratings for Abalos has increased by +7 percentage points since December 2022.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco with 77 percent approval and 75 percent trust ratings; Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin with 75 percent approval and 70 percent trust ratings; Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan John Uy with 75 percent approval and 88 percent trust ratings; Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman 73 percent approval and 70 trust ratings and Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo with 71 percent approval and 67 percent trust ratings came in at 2nd to 5th places, respectively.
At 6th to 10th places, respectively, were Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople with 68 percent approval and 65 percent trust ratings; Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla with 68 percent approval and 63 percent trust ratings; Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual, with 68 percent approval and 60 percent trust ratings; Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, with 67 percent approval and 65 percent trust ratings; Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra, with 67 percent approval and 68 percent trust ratings; Health Acting Secretary Rosario Vergeire with 67 percent approval and 70 percent trust ratings; Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno with 66 percent approval and 68 percent trust ratings; Science and Technology Secretary Renato.
Solidum Jr. with 66 percent approval and 72 trust ratings; Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Acuzar with 65 percent approval and 62 percent trust ratings; Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan with 63 percent approval and 61 percent trust ratings; and Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma with 63 percent approval and 60 percent trust ratings.
PH Top Performing Senators The “Boses ng Bayan” poll also evaluated the performance of Philippine Senators, generating the following results: Raffy Tulfo and Imee Marcos emerged as the nation’s top-performing Senators with identical 87 rating scores.
Senators Ramon Revilla Jr., Mark Villar, and Loren Legarda are statistically tied for second place with 85 job performance ratings. Senator Robin Padilla and Francis Escudero are locked for third place with an 82 percent rating.
Senator Cynthia Villar and Senator Grace Poe are also tied for the fourth position with a 78 percent job satisfaction rating. Senator Francis Tolentino came in fifth place with a 76 percent approval rating.
Senators Christopher “Bong” Go and Win Gatchalian received 73 percent approval ratings, followed by Senators Sonny Angara and Alan Cayetano with 70 percent performance scores.
In eighth place, Senator Nancy Binay received 68 percentage points, followed by Senators Koko Pimentel and Risa Hontiveros, whom each received a 65 percent mark.
Senator Pia Cayetano, who received a score of 63%, occupies the tenth position.
The National Bureau of Investigation received the highest performance rating among law enforcement agencies at 69 percent, followed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines at 67 percent and the Philippine National Police at 58 percent.
The RPMD national poll “Boses ng Bayan” was held in each city in each region from February 25 to March 8, 2023, with a total of 10,000 adult respondents.
