Ocular of housing projects continues: NHA

National Housing Authority general manager Joeben Tai  on Monday continued the conduct of ocular of various projects nationwide, including  relocation sites in Valenzuela City and Malabon City.

Among the projects visited by Tai was the Disiplina Village in Bignay, Valenzuela, an in-city resettlement project for informal settler families living in danger areas and those affected by government infrastructure projects.

The Disiplina Village is one of the flagship housing programs of NHA and is the first in-city resettlement project in the country, consisting of 104 low-rise buildings benefitting 3,702 families.

He also visited the NHA TELOF housing in Valenzuela City.

Under Presidential Proclamation 770 of  1996, NHA shall cover the project’s land development for 114 officials and employees of the Telecommunications Office (TELOF), formerly the Bureau of Telecommunications.

Tai also inspected the Arkong Bato housing project in Barangay Arkong Bato, Valenzuela, an ongoing resettlement project for ISFs living along the Tullahan River and other dangerous areas in the city. The project involved two phases of development.

The first phase consists of three four-story low-rise buildings with 144 housing units, while the second phase covers the construction of 24-story low-rise buildings to benefit 960 families.

Joining GM Tai were NCR-North Sector Regional Manager Engr. Jovita Panopio, Special Assistant to the GM Rovin Andrew Feliciano, and NHA MANAVA District officials, who were welcomed by Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie  Gatchalian.

Tai and Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval visited the St. Gregory Homes in Panghulo, and inspected the ongoing relocation of families. The project shall generate 1,380 housing units, wherein 720 units are ready for occupancy.

Under the Build Better and More  Housing Program of Tai, NHA shall build 1.3 million houses to help address the housing backlog in the country. Rio N. Araja
