500 indigents get cash aid in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY—Five hundred indigent Angeleños recently received ₱3,000 each in assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. led the distribution with Senator Imee Marcos, who participated in the cash assistance distribution.

A total of 1,000 indigent beneficiaries in the city are set to receive the cash assistance and the second batch of indigent residents will be scheduled to receive the assistance.

This project is part of DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).

Lazatin thanked Marcos and the DSWD for allotting cash assistance for his indigent kababayans.

The AICS program is a social safety net or a stop-gap mechanism to support the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crises such as illness or death of a family member, and other crises.
