LPA to bring showers over Caraga, E. Visayas

A low-pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Eastern Visayas, PAGASA said on Sunday.

As of 3 p.m., the LPA was located 605 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, according to the agency’s 4 p.m. weather report.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in areas affected by the LPA.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Residents were advised of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Mindanao is moderate to strong moving south to southwest while coastal waters will be slight to moderate to rough, ranging from 1.2 to 2.6 meters.

Luzon and Visayas will experience light to moderate wind speeds moving in the northeast to northwest direction, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.
