Trixie Cruz-Angeles, the newly-named press secretary of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said she discussed her earlier posts on Twitter with the incoming Chief Executive.

Angeles said she is supporting the president-elect despite tweets critical of the Marcos family several years back.

Angeles tweeted on Marcos and his family’s ill-gotten wealth years ago, and the critical posts have resurfaced, following her expected appointment as head of the Presidential Communications and Operations Office (PCOO).

The lawyer said she had discussed these with Marcos himself.

“We have talked about it, I’m a vlogger and we have talked about it extensively on the vlogs, we have conducted several lives about it, and I’ve told my story about how and when I changed my mind about it,” Angeles, in a GMA News report said. “So that’s it, that’s pretty much it. I think evolution is a natural thing even in our consciousness.”

Angeles said she learned of her new designation as press secretary a week ago.

The Marcos camp had said her primary task is to oversee the operations of the PCOO. One of the responsibilities of the PCOO is to conduct of regular press briefings.

PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar, who will turn over the post to Angeles, said he welcomes the development.

“The PCOO welcomes the nomination of Atty. Rose Beatrix ‘Trixie’ Cruz-Angeles to head the PCOO under the incoming administration,” Andanar, quoted in a report, said.

“Atty. Angeles is no stranger to PCOO having served the office during the early years of the Duterte administration,” he added.
