Inday Sara’s birthday wish for Gloria: ‘Good health’

Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) vice presidential bet Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte traveled to Lubao, Pampanga late afternoon Monday to greet former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo a happy birthday during a campaign rally.

The former Chief Executive turns 75 this Tuesday. She is virtually assured of a congressional comeback as representative of Pampanga’s second district since she has no opponent.

Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda and Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda also joined the event. They also had a meet-and-greet with local officials in Pampanga’s 3rd District led by Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr.

Duterte wished Mrs. Arroyo a long, happy, more productive and fulfilling life.

“We wish her (Arroyo) good health, of course lagi iyan and we wish her happiness and we wish her heart’s desire for the next 2, 3, 4, 50 years more,” Duterte said as she sang a birthday song for Arroyo together with Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo.

A bouquet of flowers and cake were given to  Arroyo who described Monday’s event as her “birthday rally” beside the municipal hall of Lubao.

Through UniTeam senatorial candidate Jinggoy Estrada, former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada greeted Arroyo a happy birthday over the phone.

Mrs. Arroyo said she was happy that Duterte attended her “birthday rally.”

The event was also attended by senatorial candidates Herbert Bautista, Gringo Honasan, Rodante Marcoleta, Mark Villar, Win Gatchalian, Gibo Teodoro, Larry Gadon, Loren Legarda, Robin Padilla and Sal Panelo.

In Bulacan, Inday Sara praised the makers of Filipino barong and wedding gowns at the Disenyo Pandi Bagong Barrio in Bulacan for their “world-class talent and initiative in preserving handmade Filipino textile.”

The Davao City mayor went on a campaign sortie in Pandi, Bulacan and got fitted for her own Filipiniana.She had a meet and greet with dressmakers in the Pandi sortie.

Pandi, one of Bulacan’s “youngest” towns, has long been noted for its garments and embroidery, where the Disenyo Pandi is housed as a venue for the town’s artisans to show and sell their masterpieces — bridal and debutante gowns, Barong Tagalog, among others.
