Housing dept unveils ‘subdivisions’ in N. Ecija

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development on Monday rolled out three subdivision-like housing projects in Nueva Ecija to manifest the government’s commitment in expanding its resettlement projects nationwide.

Secretary Eduardo del Rosario spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony for land development of a resettlement project in Barangay San Roque in San Leonardo municipality.

He expressed delight over the coming into fruition of the project being carried out in coordination with the National Housing Authority and the local government unit.

He cited the subdivision-like development and decent shelters in the project composed initially of 58 housing units with a covered court, saying that land development is a key component in ensuring comfortability among its residents.

“This (project) is like living in a subdivision. You can see the drainage system and the cemented road networks,” he said.

The resettlement facility shall benefit underprivileged families in the municipality.

Del Rosario graced another groundbreaking ceremony in Palayan City for the expansion of land development on an existing NHA resettlement site intended for informal settler families.

He said he is committing his all-out support for the project help Palayan City fast-track the project’s completion.

He graced the groundbreaking and MOA-signing for site development of socialized housing projects in barangays Cabugao and Concepcion in the municipality of Sto. Domingo to benefit informal settler families, most especially those living in the danger zones.
