President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed another former military man in his government.

Retired Lt. Gen. Raul del Rosario was named on Tuesday as the administrator of the Office for Transportation Security, an agency under the Department of Transportation, replacing Undersecretary Arturo Evangelista.

As head of the agency, Del Rosario is responsible for the country’s national transportation security in all transportation terminals nationwide.

Rosario served as commander of the Western and Central Commands of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and held various positions in the Philippine Air Force during his 37 years of military experience.

Duterte signed his appointment papers Aug. 28.

Earlier, Duterte has appointed retired Lt. Gen. Milfredo Melegrito as deputy director of the Bureau of Corrections.

Melegrito’s appointment comes amid controversy hounding the BuCor on the release of ex-convicts under the Good Conduct Time Allowance Law or Republic Act 10592.
