Two more police officers in southern Metro Manila were ordered relieved, this time for alleged mishandling of persons arrested for violating local ordinances.

Southern Police District director Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario Jr. identified the relieved officers as Senior Insp. Aaron Elago, commander of Makati City-Police Community Precinct-7, and SPO2 James Teano, desk officer of the same police precinct.

“Elago will be replaced by Chief Insp. Romeo Vasquez,” said Apolinario in a text message.

National Capital Region Police Office chief Guillermo Eleazar tapped Apolinario to conduct an investigation on the case involving the said police station accused of mishandling arrested night idlers (tambay).

The case, according to Apolinario, went viral on social media.
