A ranking police officer was killed while his wife was wounded after motorcycle-riding assassins ambushed the couple in Antipolo City early morning Friday.
Chief Supt Guillermo Eleazar, police director in Southern Tagalog, identified the fatality as lawyer Supt Ramy Tagnong, assigned at the legal affairs office at the Police Provincial Office-4A.
Supt. Tagnong’s live-in partner Maria Angela Cabaltera Hadap, 36, survived the ambush but sustained three gunshot wounds on her back and one on the left arm from a still unknown caliber.
Reports said the couple were on their way to Quiapo Church to hear the first Friday mass of the Black Nazarene when waylaid.
