One hundred eighty seven (187) Filipino workers have arrived from Kuwait today.

They were the latest batch of mostly undocumented Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who availed of the amnesty program by the Kuwaiti government.

Most of those who returned were women who worked as domestic helpers.

They were brought back home by Philippine Airlines (PAL) through flight 669.

The OFWs received financial assistance from several government agencies upon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.

The aid totalled P 25,000 for each of the repatriated Filipinos.

Officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) were on hand to welcome the OFWs.

Government will shoulder the expenses of the workers who will go back to their hometowns.

It has also provided vehicles that will take the OFWs to some drop-off points if they live in Metro Manila.
