Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald Dela Rosa has begun saying goodbye to his fellow cops.

He is due to retire in January 2018.

He spoke today at the inauguration of the multi-purpose hall of the PNP – Criminal Investigation and Detective Group (CIDG) inside Camp Crame in Quezon City.

"Baka after this, maging busy na tayo dahil Christmas season. Baka after New Year, wala na akong time na makausap kayo dahil diretso na ako sa pagre-retire (maybe after this, we will already be busy because it is Christmas season. Maybe after the New Year, I might not have the time to talk with you because I will go straight to retirement)," he told the policemen.

He also hailed the performance of the PNP unit.

He said since he assumed the post of PNP chief in July last year, he has never heard of any CIDG member getting involved in misdemeanors or crimes.
