Vietnam is set to donate rice to Marawi residents who were displaced when Maute terrorists invaded the city.
Vietnam President Tran Dai Quan has promised to send 200 metric tons of rice.
In a press conference in Vietnam, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the assistance was pledged during the Vietnam leader's bilateral talks with President Rodrigo Duterte.
In return, Duterte said Philippine government will release the five Vietnamese fishermen who were caught illegally fishing in Philippine waters.
The fishermen were caught by the Philippine Coast Guard off Bolinao, Pangasinan last September.
