THE Public Attorney’s Office has asked Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II to order the National Bureau of Investigation to also conduct a parallel probe on the killing of 16-year-old Michael Angelo Remecio.

PAO chief Persida Rueda-Acosta said she had already requested Aguirre to order the NBI to investigate the killing of Remecio as they did the cases of Reynaldo “Kulot” de Guzman, Kian Loyd delos Santos and Carl Angelo Arnaiz.

“The [Remecio] family is crying for justice and they trust the NBI better than the police in investigating and resolving the crime,” she said.

Michael Angelo, the latest teenager from Caloocan City who was found dead in Bulacan last week, was buried on Sunday after undergoing autopsy on Saturday by the PAO’s forensic experts at the request of his parents.

PAO’s forensic team conducted tests to confirm that the body was that of Michael Angelo’s who went missing on Aug.26.

Acosta said the test showed that the body did not have an appendix and had bone fracture in the left elbow.

“Based on our forensic report, the parents again positively identified the cadaver as their son’s because he had previous appendectomy and injury in the left elbow,” Acosta said.

A forensic dental exam also showed that the body  was that of a male about 16 to 18 years old.

The autopsy showed “blunt injuries and bone fracture at the nape area and signs of bleeding at the back.”

Remecio’s body was stuffed in a sack with his hands tied with a nylon cord when it was found by scavengers.
