The Department of Justice has been asked to prosecute a suspected member of Abu Sayyaf Group for rebellion and illegal possession of explosives.

In a complaint, the Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) charged Milham Saham, 24, with rebellion and illegal possession of explosives after he was caught transporting explosives and bomb-making components in Sulu last week.

Saham was subjected on Monday to inquest proceedings presided over by Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Clarisa Kuong.

During the proceedings, Saham, who was represented by Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) lawyer Jonalyn Barquez, sought to file a waiver of detention and undergo a thorough preliminary investigation to answer the allegations hurled against him.
