The House of Representatives has passed on third reading the bill that seeks to enforce the “rightsizing” program of national government.

The measure was enacted on Wednesday with a vote of 230-6-0.

It creates a committee that will oversee the streamlining of government employees and personnel.

It grants the President the power to modify and convert to appropriate size the number of workers involved in the operations of the executive branch and purse functional shifts and modifications.

This piece of legislation is a priority of the Duterte administration.

House Bill 5707 titled “Rightsizing the National Government Act” says, the plan should be implemented within three years.

Davao City Representatie Karlo Nograles is the principal author of the bill.
