Malacañang is checking reports on the alleged presence of Turkish terrorists in the Philippines.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella says, it is verifying that statement of Turkish Ambassador Esra Cankour that some members of the Fetullah Gulen Movement are in the country.

Abella also tells the Turkish diplomat that law enforcers are investigating groups that may have links to terrorism.

“We will investigate organizations abetting or aiding terrorism and will hold them accountable, especially those that may be working as fronts for terrorist and criminal activities, as alleged by the Ambassador,” he said.

Gulen movement is an Islamic transnational religious movement led by US-based preacher Fethullah Gulen.
