BAGUIO CITY—For the first time, President Rodrigo Duterte will be the guest of honor and speaker during the alumni homecoming of the Philippine Military Academy here on Saturday which is also the time a president will attend the annual event after more than a decade.
The President is an adopted member of the PMA “Dimasupil” Class of 1967, which adopted him as early as 1994 while still mayor of Davao City.
PMA spokesperson Lt. Col. Rey Balido said the last president to attend the PMA Alumni Homecoming was former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo back in 2004, when she also served as guest of honor.
In the same event, Duterte will also be one of the few to be formally adopted as an honorary member of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association Incorporated.
