Metro road re-blocking resumes

THE Metro Manila Development Authority announced on Friday the resumption of road re-blocking and other repairs along the major thoroughfares in Quezon City this weekend.

Emerson Carlos, MMDA assistant general manager for operations, said the Department of Public Works and Highways resumed the road works starting 10 pm Friday until 5 am Monday at the following areas in Quezon City:

• The northbound 3rd lane of Mindanao Avenue from Arty 2 to Old Sauyo Road; 

• The eastbound 1st lane of Batasan Road from DSWD to Payatas Road; 2nd lane of Congressional Avenue Extension from Tandang Sora Avenue to Luzon Avenue, and 2nd lane of C.P. Garcia Avenue from Velasquez Street to Katipunan Avenue.

The MMDA advised motorists to avoid the affected areas and to use alternate routes. It said all affected roads will be fully passable Monday morning.

The other parts of Quezon City placed under road repairs last week were the southbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue, Litex Pedestrian Overpass to LP Machine Works; Northbound and southboaund lanes of Mindanao Avenue from its boundary to Old Sauyo Road and the eastbound lane of Batasan Road from Department of Social Welfare and Development to Payatas Road, Congressional Avenue Ext. before Our Lady Court Subdivision, to Luzon Avenue and Carlos P. Garcia Avenue from Baluyot Street to H.R. Ocampo.
