Batanes remains under Signal Number 2

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 2 is still up over Batanes group of islands.

Signal number 1 is up over Northern Cagayan, including the Babuyan group of islands.

These signals are due to typhoon ‘Helen,’ which has maintained its strength.

It packs maximum sustained winds of up to 150 kph and gustiness of up to 185 kph.

The eye of ‘Helen’ is currently at 530 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

The typhoon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday morning.
