Senate Committee on Energy Chairman Sherwin Gatchalian and Senators Nancy Binay and JV Ejercito have visited the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) in Morong, Bataan.
The 3 lawmakers were given a briefing on the power plant.
In a hearing last August 31, 2016, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi had said, he favored the revival of the 620-megawatt nuclear plant to increase the country’s power reserves.
But Gatchalian had said, government must use its funds to develop more feasible power generation projects.
Ejercito had considered the possibility of reviving the nuclear plant.
Binay, meanwhile, had said, government must make a final ruling on BNPP’s operations.
