10 dead, 11 injured as Gener hits Philippines

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Tuesday logged 10 deaths as Typhoon Gener passed through Philippine territory. 

In its latest situational report, the agency said the casualties were reported in three regions in the country, four from Western Visayas, two in Zamboanga Peninsula, and four deaths as well in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao.

Eleven injuries were also reported with two missing due to the weather disturbances, all of these are subject for validation, according to the NDRRMC.

At least 30 roads and seven bridges are not passable in eight regions while six areas in seven regions experienced power interruptions.

NDRRMC also logged P857,800 worth of damages in houses across eight regions and 458 areas across 15 regions cancelled its respective classes due to Typhoon Gener and the southwest monsoon or Habagat.
