Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

Mindanao was rocked by the earthquake, which was initially logged as a
magnitude 7.2 before the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and
Seismology (Phivolcs) later downgraded the earthquake to 6.8.

Phivolcs reported that the earthquake struck at 4:14 p.m. local time,
at a depth of 72 kilometers, approximately 34 kilometers northwest of
Sarangani town.

Phivolcs also warned that aftershocks are likely and that damage may
occur, but there is no tsunami threat.
