Laguna—The local government has announced the annual “Ani ng Laguna” (ANILAG) Festival which has been celebrated since 2004.
ANILAG has also been a Department of Tourism Hall of Famer in the Provincial Festival Category for being best in its class for three consecutive years.
After three years, the Provincial Government of Laguna under the leadership of Governor Ramil L. Hernandez will once again hold the ANILAG Festival, with Laguna’s First Lady and 2nd District Representative Ruth Mariano-Hernandez as cochair of the Love Laguna tourism campaign.
On March 11 to March 18, 2023, the ANILAG Festival will be held with more meaningful programs, with newer activities to catalyze a resurgent Laguna. After the economic devastation caused by the pandemic, Ramil said.
He said the provincial government made sure to employ new policies to generate and sustain the budding economic growth and the growing dynamism of Laguna.
The festival has been a regional crucible for economic investments, attracting traders and businesses. The number of communities, institutions, and sectors joining and participating in the programs and activities has been phenomenal, elevating Laguna into multi-cultural prominence.
But then COVID-19 happened, and, like most festivals in the world, the celebration of
ANILAG Festival was relegated into the backseat of government programs, as the world fought desperately to stem the tide of the fast-spreading pandemic.
Beginning with the symbolic show of unyielding spiritual faith, with the Fluvial Parade/procession, the Festival will feature, for the first time, thirty united LGUs of Laguna with the opening of the Trade Fair Exhibit.
As mentioned, there will be new more interesting activities, such as, Mr. & Mrs. Laguna, Himig Laguna Songwriting Competition, Arnis Exhibition, Hot Air Balloon Exhibition, Philippine Marines Corps Silent Drill Platoon and Band Exhibition, ANILAG Search for Talents and Artists, Rabbit Exhibit, and Cultural Show with the Embassies, among others.
And with the mainstream programs enhanced to the changing times and trends of the new normal, the 2023 ANILAG Festival is guaranteed to attract visitors, tourists, and investors, all wanting to be part and to partake of the bountiful harvest of the 2023 ANILAG Festival.
