Parts of the country will continue to experience rains due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the northeast monsoon, the weather bureau said Thursday.

The LPA, last tracked 185 km west of Catbalogan City, Samar or 50 km east of Roxas City, Capiz, remains less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone.

However, it will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region and the Visayas.

Rains caused by the northeast monsoon will also prevail over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

These areas may possibly experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

PAGASA, meanwhile, added that the northeast monsoon will also bring light rains over Ilocos Region.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas continue to prevail across the country.

Rough to very rough seas are forecast over the northern, eastern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon, western seaboard of Central Luzon, western and eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of the Visayas.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture into the sea and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves, PAGASA said.
