Department of Health (DOH) officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire on Friday met with Danish Ambassador Franz-Michael to discuss areas of cooperation to address non- communicable diseases, establish partnerships in digital health, and develop bilateral knowledge exchange mechanisms between the Philippines and Denmark.

Specific areas of discussion included health promotion, capacity building, information sharing, prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases, digital health development, and research and development.

Vergeire thanked the Danish government for assisting the Philippines in its health programs.

“We thank the government of Denmark for assisting the Philippine Department of Health in improving the health of Filipinos.

International cooperation initiatives such as this are crucial in achieving Universal Health Care, as these enable both countries to strengthen our respective strategies and health interventions through key learnings from the other’s experiences and best practices. As we strengthen our existing relationship with Denmark and enter into more collaborative engagements, we expect that these will better equip our country to further advance our healthcare system for the benefit of every Juan and Juana” Vergeire said.
