Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan delivered on Saturday his state of the city address highlighting his administration’s key achievements in his first 100 days in office.

The local chief executive emphasized the city’s efforts in providing job opportunities as part of the government’s recovery program through its local recruitment activities, mega job fairs, and free training programs, resulting in over 5,000 employed residents and 480 training graduates in three months.

In line with this, Malapitan also declared that the construction is under way for the eight quick response stations dedicated to disaster and emergency preparedness. He also announced that the city shall continue the fight against crime and illegal drugs and that the Caloocan City Police Station has apprehended over 1,400 suspects in response to his marching order to clear the city’s ‘most wanted’ list.

Gearing toward digitalization with online transactions as its core, the official also said that processes such as registration and validation of records were migrated online. The city government also partnered with GCash to introduce an online payment portal for real property and business taxes, as well as for other government services.

He also emphasized his initiative to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cooperatives, social and civil organizations, and the market sector to boost the city’s economy.

In the next months, he said he will focus more on infrastructure projects which include the construction of the new Caloocan City Hall-North and Caloocan Business Center.

“Gagawin natin itong replica ng Caloocan City Hall-South para maging komportable ang ating mga kababayan at kapwa empleyado gayundin ang pagtatayo ng ating bagong Caloocan Business Center kung saan natin ilalagay ang lahat ng government agencies sa Caloocan,” he said.

He also said the local government plans to strengthen public health care by improving its programs and open more health centers for its communities as well as procuring new equipment for the city’s public hospitals.

He also cited Ordinance no. 0984 which grants P500 cash gift to senior citizens to show appreciation for their invaluable role that influences generations.
