The House of Representatives on Wednesday night adopted a resolution calling for special elections in the seventh district of Cavite.
The lower chamber, presided by Speaker Martin Romualdez moved, to adopt House Resolution 100 upon the motion of House Majority Leader and Zamboanga City Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe.
The resolution recognizes the existence of the vacancy in the seventh district of Cavite following the appointment of Jesus Crispin Remulla as Justice Secretary on July 1, 2022.
Romualdez is the caretaker of the legislative post vacated by Remulla until a new representative is elected.
