Makati cops nab 5, seize P4.25-million shabu in raid

Police have seized more than P4.25 million worth of metamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, during a buy-bust operation Friday night in Barangay Rizal, Makati City.

The raid also resulted in the arrest of five suspects identified as Jebert Baluarte, alias Kanor, 26; Leopoldo Montes, alias Leo, 53; Myrafe Montes, alias Fe, 42; Paul Graham Gonzalez, 28; and Reinsher Anne Jamero, 23.

Operatives of the city’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the entrapment operation along Amarillo Street following surveillance conducted on the suspects’ illegal activity.

Seized from the suspects were four plastic sachets containing shabu worth P4.25 million, a black Nike bag, a black pouch, and the cash and boodle money used in the police operation.

The suspects, who are now detained at the Makati Police detention facility, will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Law) while the pieces of evidence seized from them were turned over to Southern Police District – Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg commended Makati City police commander Col. Harold Depositar and his men for their accomplishment.

“I congratulate the Makati City Police on their successful anti-drug operation, proof of your dedication to your sworn duty and desire to give our youth a future away from the destructive effects of illegal drugs,” said Macaraeg.

Two suspected drug dealers, tagged by the authorities as high value targets, were arrested in the buy-bust operation conducted along Kalayaan Ave. in Barangay West Rembo.

The suspects were identified as Moda Rinandang Mimbalawag, 60, and Aslanie Mimbalawag, 23, both residents of Imus, Cavite.

Investigation showed that the suspects were using a 16-year-old high school student in their illegal activity.

Seized from the suspects were one kilo of shabu, a Toyota Fortuner with license plate DAH 9149, two paper bags, a mobile phone, and the cash and boodle money used in the entrapment operation.
