MMDA bares traffic reroute for Rock ‘n’ Roll run

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said it will enforce road closure and traffic rerouting on major streets in Manila on Sunday (June 19) to give way to Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series marathon.

To be closed to traffic from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m., and 3 p.m. onwards are Roxas Blvd. from Katigbak Drive to President Quirino Avenue, Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive, Katigbak Drive and South Drive, Independence Road, P. Burgos Avenue from Roxas Blvd. to Jones Bridge, Ma. Orosa Street from P. Burgos to Kalaw, Finance Road from P. Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue, Northbound lane of Taft Avenue from Ayala Boulevard to P. Burgos Avenue, Muralla Street from Sta. Lucia to Real Streets, Real from Muralla to Sta. Lucia Streets, Sta. Lucia from Real to Muralla Streets, and Quintin Paredes Street from Jones Bridge to Ongpin Street.

Northbound motorists on Taft Ave. going to P. Burgos Ave. are advised to turn right to Ayala Blvd. to point of destination, while those coming from Ma. Orosa St. toward P. Burgos Ave. must turn right to Kalaw Ave., to Taft Ave. to point of destination.

Vehicles from A. Mabini St. should turn right to Kalaw Ave. to Taft Ave. to point of destination, while those coming from Pasay using the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. must turn right to P. Ocampo St. to point of destination.

Light vehicles coming from Delpan Bridge must turn left to A. Soriano Ave. to Magallanes Drive to point of destination.

Trailer trucks or heavy vehicles coming from Delpan Bridge shall turn at Anda Circle to northbound lane of Mel Lopez Boulevard to C-3 to point of destination while those coming from Pres. Quirino Ave. must go straight to Nagtahan Bridge to Lacson Ave. to point of destination (old truck route).

Actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on actual traffic situation, the MMDA said.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series is road running events known for lining race routes with live bands, cheerleaders, and themed water stations.
