The Office of MP Diamila Disimban-Ramos, in partnership with the Ministry of Health-BARMM, has launched medical assistance programs to reach those who have less access to health services in the Bangsamoro region.
Ramos and MOH-BARMM conducted last month a medical outreach program” in Barangay Raya in Wato Balindong and Barangay Maul Ilian in Marantao, both in Lanao del Sur province.
The two-day outreach program provided free medical consultation to approximately 800 residents of the two barangays.
The beneficiaries also received medicines and vitamins.
At least 1,000 residents likewise benefitted from the eye screening services with free reading eyeglasses while selected beneficiaries also received wheelchairs and hearing aids.
Cadalay Usodan, a resident of Barangay Raya, Wato Balindong, expressed his gratitude for the free medical services that they have received.
“We at Barangay Raya are very happy because we have availed of these free medical services since not all of us are financially capable of getting examined. We are very thankful to MP Ramos and to MOH for this blessing like this reading eyeglass that they have provided that will greatly help us especially when we are reading the Holy Qur’an,” he said.
Mohammad Jamal Tanggote, chairman of Brgy. Maul Ilian, also shared his appreciation for the outreach program.
“This is the first time that there has been a medical mission in our barangay so we are very grateful to MP Ramos, the Ministry of Health and to everyone who helped with this initiative. I know the condition and needs of the residents here so this is a big help to them. Thank you very much and I hope you can extend more services like this,” he said.
