The Southern Police District on Wednesday announced the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of illegal drugs and firearms during a buy-bust operation in an alleged drug den in Taguig City.

SPD director Brig. Gen Jimili Macaraeg said the drug den situated along C-6 Service Road in Barangay New Lower Bicutan was being maintained by one of the suspects, identified as Christopher Estillore Oroyan, 47.

Also arrested were Mark Jacinto Mamonon, 46, and Ronaldo Ocampo Marcelino, 55, both residents of Taguig; Domingo Tabamo Mata, 49, and Felyzarda Amarillo Imson, both from Pateros.

Macaraeg said his men from the Drug Enforcement Unit, District Intelligence Division, and District Mobile Force Battalion also dismantled the establishment.

The police operation was also coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Seized from the suspects were three pistols, gun magazines, and ammunitions, one brown sling bag, one black eye glass case, and one brown coin purse. Also recovered were 42 grams of shabu worth P285,600 and the drug money used in the buy-bust operation.

The suspect were detained at the SPD Custodial Facility pending filing of drug charges and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

“The latest accomplishment of District Drug Enforcement Unit and District Intelligence Division is truly commendable and deserve recognition,” said Macaraeg. “I also want to thank the people who provided information to our men which resulted in the arrest of the suspects behind (the drug den).”

The same SPD team recently raided a suspected drug den in Parañaque City.

The operation also resulted in the seizure of more than P400,000 worth of shabu and the arrest of six people —Datupuwa Kanapia Datumantang, 32; Babydhats Kaliman Midtimbang, 31; Frederick Bautista Montilla, 23; Alfredo Cinco Montilla, 67; Sarah Jane Lumabao Alon, 27, and Nadeen Junio Pedragosa, 25.

Investigation showed that Midtimbang acted as the maintainer of the raided drug den situated at Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Barangay San Dionisio while the five other suspects were drug dealers.

Metro Manila police director Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad commended Macaraeg and his men for their accomplishments.

“NCRPO’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs will continue through the unwavering efforts of our operatives towards drug free community,” he said.
