Police dragnet yields two suspected drug dealers

Two suspected drug dealers were reported caught in a dragnet laid by elements of the Southern Police District’s (SPD) on Thursday afternoon in Makati City.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said the operation also resulted in the seizure of P353,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu.

A composite team of the Makati City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit of Police Sub-station 1 conducted the buy-bust operation on 9210 Pateros Street in Barangay Olympia around, resulting in the arrest ofJoshua Bataller, alias Jong, 24, and Vincent Imperial, alias Teng, 44.

Seized from the suspects were 52 grams of shabu and the marked money used by the police in the entrapment.

Bataller and Imperial were detained by the seized substance was brought to SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
“We in the police force are serious in our campaign against all forms of crime and illegal drugs. We will not stop until we get rid of this long -standing problem,” said Gen. Macaraeg.

He also said the SPD is enforcing the PNP’s anti-crime campaign dubbed as SACLEO, or the simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations, aimed to ensure peace and order in the community.

SACLEO is an all-out police operation simultaneously conducted in identified areas against illegal drug personalities, most wanted persons, bearers of loose firearms, illegal gamblers, and city ordinance violators.
