Pre-election surveys frontrunner former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has maintained his lead over nine opponents in the recent survey of PUBLiCUS in the National Capital Region – only eight days away to Election Day.

The survey had a ±3 percent margin of error.

The 64-year-old Marcos, who has been campaigning on the slogan that stresses unity, got a preferential rating of 52.2 percent in the poll held from April 25 to 28.

The 57-year-old Vice President Leni Robredo was in second place with 27.9 percent. Her rating increased by 3.6 percent, the pollster said.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, 47, was in third place with 7.3 percent; followed by Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, 73, with 4 percent; Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacqquiao, 43, with 1.4 percent; labor leader Leodegario “Leody” De Guzman, 62, with 0.9 percent; former Palace spokesperson Ernesto Abella, 73, with 0.6 percent; and former Defense chief Norberto Gonzales, 75, with 0.3 percent.

The survey firm said 4.6 percent of the respondents were undecided, while 0.4 percent said they were not supporting any presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, 43, also kept her lead in the vice presidential race with 55.1 percent, followed by Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, 58, with 19.4 percent. Both candidates garnered around 4 percent additional support from respondents.

Statistically tied at third place were Dr. Willie Ong, 58, with 9.6 percent and Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto 3rd, 73, with 9.3 percent. They were followed by Buhay Party-list Rep, Jose “Lito” Atienza, 80, and former Akbayan Party-list Rep. Walden Bello, 76, with 0.9 and 0.8 percent respectively.

In the same survey, Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Senator Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian, broadcaster Raffy Tulfo, and Antique Rep. Loren Legarda led in the NCR survey for senatorial candidates. They got the support of at least 40 percent of respondents.
