The rally culminated with a record-breaking attendance of 280,000 supporters at the “Barako para kay Leni-Kiko,” the grand rally held at Catalina Lake Residences in Bauan, Batangas, according to estimates of organizers.

Robredo was endorsed by Batangas 2nd District Representative Raneo “Ranie” Abu at the grand rally, who gave a rousing introduction for the presidential aspirant.

Abu’s thumbs up was the latest in the string of endorsements received during the day.

Robredo was endorsed by Nasugbu Mayor Antonio Barcelon, former Batangas 1st District Representative Tom Apacible, Tuy local government officials led by Mayor Armando Afable, and Lemery Mayor Geraldine Ornales earlier in the day when Robredo visited their towns.

Some 118 priests of the Archdiocese of Lipa also endorsed Robredo after she was given a blessing at the Minor Basilica of Saint Martin of Tours in Taal.

Robredo, who won in Batangas in the 2016 elections, recalled the trust given by Batangueños and expressed confidence that she has repaid that trust.

Robredo said in 2016, she got substantial votes in Batangas. “You gave me your trust,” Robredo, in a speech in Lemery said, adding that the support and trust of Batangas is not wasted during the 6 years that she is vice president.

In Bauan, Robredo called on her supporters present in the rally to redouble their efforts, as the campaign draws to a close.

“Alam ko marami na kayong sakripisyo noong mga nagdaang araw. Pero ang pakiusap ko po, ihirit na po natin ‘yung lahat ng ating mga bayan para makakumbinsi pa,” said Robredo. “Konting tumbling na lang, mananalo na tayo.”
