DPWH resumes weekend road repair works

The Department of Public Works and Highways has resumed over the weekend rehabilitation works on Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), Circumferential Road – 5, and major streets in Quezon City.

The move was taken after the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority gave DPWH-NCR director Nomer Abel Canlas the go signal to continue the road works from 11 p.m. Friday (Apr. 1) to 5 a.m. Monday (Apr. 4).

The road repair activities covered the northbound lane of EDSA in Quezon City, corner Panay Avenue to Mother Ignacia, first lane from sidewalk; along EDSA near Quirino Highway Exit; before and after Gate 3, third lane from MRT lane; Main Avenue to P. Tuazon Flyover, second lane from sidewalk; and after P. Tuazon to Aurora Boulevard, second lane from sidewalk.

First and second lanes from the driveway of Timog Avenue-Boy Scout Rotunda; and second lane from sidewalk of C.P. Garcia Avenue before Katipunan Avenue will be closed.

Road reblocking operations would also be undertaken in Pasay City, EDSA northbound direction of the innermost lane (bus way) along P. Santos Street going to EDSA-Evangelista Footbridge.

In Caloocan City, EDSA southbound direction in front of A. De Jesus Street, fifth lane from sidewalk will be also closed.

While the following lanes along C-5 Road will undergo the same activity: southbound directions along Ugong Norte; Bagumbayan; Ugong; Bagong Ilog; and northbound direction of the inner lane in Makati City.

The MMDA assured that the affected lanes will be opened to vehicular traffic Monday morning.

The agency advised motorists to expect traffic slowdown in the affected areas, and to take alternate routes.
