Survey shows top senatorial, party-list bets

Former Public Works chief Mark Villar topped an independent survey of senatorial hopefuls conducted by the RP- Mission and Development Foundation Inc.

Villar logged a voter’s preference rating of 69.7 percent.

At close second was Antique Rep. Loren Legarda (65.3 percent), followed by broadcaster Raffy Tulfo (63.5 percent), former House Speaker Alan Cayetano (54.1 percent), Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero (52.8 percent) and actor Robin Padilla (45.2 percent).

Rounding up the top 12 slots are Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri (45.1 percent), Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian (42.9 percent), former Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay (41.3 percent), former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista (34.5 percent), former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada (33.7 percent) and Sen. Joel Villanueva (32.4 percent).

As for party-list organizations, ACT-CIS scored the highest at 8.23 percent, followed by Ako Bicol (6.15 percent), An Waray (6.13 percent), Gabriela (4.76 percent), A Teacher (4.55 percent), 4Ps (3.12 percent), 1-PACMAN (2.97 percent), Ang Probinsiyano (2.81 percent), AGAP (2.72 percent), Senior Citizens (2.68 percent), Bayan Muna (2.57 percent) and Magsasaka (2.43 percent).

Rounding up the top 25 posts are Tingog (2.24 percent), Malasakit at Bayanihan (2.18 percent), BH Bagong Henerasyon (2.16 percent), PDP Cares (2.11 percent), Kabataan (2.06 percent), Anakpawis (1.98 percent), AMIN (1.76 percent), Duterte Youth (1.63 percent), Pasahero (1.61 percent), DIWA (1.57 percent), AGRI (1.43 percent), AAMBIS OWA (1.39 percent) and Buhay (1.28 percent).

The RPMD “Boses ng Bayan” survey is a non-commissioned poll conducted from March 15-22 using face-to-face interviews and random sampling with a +/-1 margin of error.
