Robredo rallies in Negros Occidental attract 100k supporters, volunteers

More than 100,000 people attended the various gatherings of presidential candidate Leni Robredo in Negros Occidental on Friday, capped by a jampacked grand rally at the Paglaum Stadium in Bacolod City with some 70,000 supporters present.

According to Negros Occidential provincial administrator Rayfrando Diaz, the crowd inside the Paglaum Stadium and surrounding areas was estimated at 70,000.

Robredo’s Sagay City event, on the other hand, gathered around 20,000 supporters, according to Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante.

The Vice President also made stops in San Carlos City, Kabankalan City, La Carlota City, Binalbagan and Hinigaran.

The Bacolod City gathering attracted the highest number of supporters since the campaign period began.

Even Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Trenas conceded the crown to Bacolod City for having the biggest gathering of Robredo supporters.

“I salute the people of Negros, especially those from Bacolod. The crown is yours 70k strong,” Trenas said in a post on Twitter.

The overwhelming crowd support for Robredo in Bacolod came after she topped both Google Trends and Facebook Analytics, Robredo’s camp said.

From Feb. 5 to March 2, 2022, she led Google Trends with an aggregate score of 107 from searches using the keywords “Leni” and Robredo” and from positive engagements.

Robredo also took the lead in terms of Facebook engagement score, which helps measure potential for people becoming voters of a certain candidate, at 8 million engagements.
