The presidential and vice presidential bids of former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Lakas-CMD Chair Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio respectively, and their allied Tingog party-list have gathered more solid support as one of the country’s largest fraternities has endorsed them.

The Scouts Royale Brotherhood International Service Fraternity and Sorority, Inc. (SRB), through its national and international officers, has unanimously expressed support for Marcos and Duterte-Carpio, adding to the long list of groups and organizations that have gravitated toward the UniTeam tandem.

SRB also endorsed the election of the Tingog party-list to the House of Representatives.

“SRB is convinced that Tingog Partylist’a thrust of championing regional development is critical in charting a productive future as the Philippines reels from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The countryside progress that Tingog Partylist aspires for is consistent with SRB’s vision of molding individuals who aspire to work in brotherhood for the betterment of society,” the group said.

House Majority Leader and Lakas-CMD President Martin Romualdez welcomed SRB’s endorsement of the tandem.

“We welcome the support. We are glad that more and more groups and organizations such as the SRB are hearing the messages of hope, economic recovery and development of the BBM-SARA tandem, and are heeding its call for unity,” Romualdez said.

The SRB made its official endorsement of Marcos and Duterte-Carpio through a Manifesto of Unity and Support that its officers signed and issued on behalf of the group, a copy of which was given to Romualdez, who represented the UniTeam tandem, by SRB Chairman Emmanuel Sipin.

In supporting the BBM-Sara tandem, the SRB acknowledged that the presidential and vice presidential candidates’ “crusade” to unite the country was significant in charting a productive future for the country as it suffers from the effects of the COVID-19.

The group also said that the call for unity of Marcos and Duterte augurs with the vision of the SRB, which is to mold individuals “who aspire to work in brotherhood for the betterment of society.”

Meanwhile, re-electionist Masbate Gov. Antonio Kho has declared that his province is fully supporting the BBM-Sara UniTeam because most of his constituents believe the tandem will continue the legacy of their fathers.

In an interview before the arrival of Marcos at the Masbate Airport for the campaign sortie on Saturday, Kho said his constituents and local leaders believed that Marcos would follow the legacy of former president Marcos Sr., while Sara would follow the legacy of President Rodrigo Duterte who “both did great for the country.”

“BBM will continue the legacy that his father has started. Same with Sara, Sara will continue the legacy of his father.”

Kho said 17 of the 21 municipalities in the province were all in for the UniTeam.

“With this political machinery that we have, we are now in full-battle gear and ready to work to give our full support,” the governor said.
