Ang Probinsyano Party-List on Tuesday led the groundbreaking ceremony for a multi-purpose building that the group sponsored and set to be constructed in Barangay Antipuluan in Narra, Palawan.

The said facility measures 600 square meters with a basketball court. It will serve as a venue for barangay events, as well as other extra-curricular activities, and will also be utilized as an evacuation center in case of calamities.

The building is expected to be finished in six months, according to Lorlaine Desamito, Department of Public Works and Highways representative.

Residents of Barangay Antipuluan expressed excitement over the construction of the multi-purpose building, calling it a dream come true.

“It has long been our dream to have a venue for get-togethers and celebrations. It also has a covered court, where we can play basketball, a favorite pastime of Filipinos),” said Albert Verano, a fisherman from Barangay Antipuluan.

Ang Probinsyano Party-List third nominee Michael Chua said their commitment to rural development remains unwavering.

“Apart from our educational and livelihood assistance, our infrastructure projects in various provinces play a vital role in boosting economic growth and alleviating poverty in the countryside. We will continue to work with LGUs to push for equal opportunities
rightfully deserved by our fellow probinsyanos,” Chua said.

The local government in Palawan, led by provincial board member Prince Demaala, thanked the Ang Probinsyano Party-List for the new project.

“Ang Probinsyano Party-List is genuinely catering to the needs of probinsyanos. They have built four infrastructure projects in Narra in the past and they continue to realize our hopes and aspirations. We are truly grateful to have them as partner in further developing our town,” Demaala said.

Before the groundbreaking, the Ang Probinsyano Party-List also distributed food packs, consisting of canned goods, rice, noodles and coffee to 165 fishermen in Antipuluan.
