The Department of Agrarian Reform in Quezon province  has conducted continuous dialogues with farmer-beneficiaries in Bondoc Peninsula.

Cornelio Villapando, Quezon provincial agrarian reform program officer II, held a dialogue with agrarian reform beneficiaries and other farmers from Catanauan, Mulanay, San Francisco, San Andres, San Narciso, and Buenavista – all in District 3, Bondoc Peninsula of Quezon  to practice constant communication between DAR and the farmers as well as the other stakeholders.

The dialogue was organized with the Katarungan/Rights Inc., a non-government organization, held in Barangay Villa Reyes in San Narciso.

“We will bring the public service closer to the farmers and we will make it a continuous relationship between the farmers and the government agencies. We must think and work together as promoters of land reform and social justice for rural development and prosperity of the people,” Villapando said.

The objective of the event is to update and clarify the status of the lands covered as well as the lands to be distributed under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) in the area and to clear-up agrarian-related issues and unanswered questions from the dialogues previously conducted.

Villapando said institutionalizing such kinds of dialogues between DAR and all its stakeholders has been identified as one of the priorities initiated under his leadership.

“We do this as part of our proactive and collaborative approach in resolving issues and other agrarian-related concerns. Even before the problem escalates, we try to resolve the issues and this has been proven to be a good strategy so that we can further advance the implementation of the program,” he said.
