The latest OCTA Research pre-election poll showed Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer Ferdinand ‘Bongbong” Marcos Jr. leading with 54 percent compared with 14 percent for Vice President Leni Robredo.

The OCTA Research survey was conducted from December 7 to December 12. The trend was similar to a survey conducted two months ago.

Manila Mayor Francicso Isko Moreno Domagoso received 12 percent, Senator Manny Pacquiao has 10 percent and Panfilo Lacson has 5 percent.

The survey said Marcos also gained high ratings in the National Capital Region with 37 percent preference as compared to Robredo’s seven percent.

Marcos also garnered 57 percent in Luzon, and 50 percent in Visayas 50 percent. In Mindanao, Marcos leads with 63 percent compared to Robredo’s eight percent.

In the socio-economic class, 63 percent of respondents from Class ABC said they will vote for Marcos if the elections were held today, Class D recorded 55 percent, while the Class E bracket registered 46 percent.

At least five percent of the respondents are still undecided. The latest results showed that Marcos will dominate the May 2022 presidential derby in all areas in the country and all social classes.

In the vice-presidential race, Davao City Mayor Duterte is also a runaway winner if the polls were held today with her 50 percent mark, as opposed to her closest pursuer Sen. Vicente Sotto III, who received 33 percent of the votes.

In Mindanao, Duterte garnered 71 percent preference, as compared to Sotto’s 17 percent. In the socio-economic class, Inday Sara consistently held her ground with 61 percent in the ABC Class, 41 percent in the D Class, and 58 percent in the E Class.

The latest OCTA Research survey results confirmed and reinforced the previous polls by other firms, SWS, Publicus, Kalye Survey, DZRH, RMN, and Pulse Asia, among others, showing Marcos pulling away from the pack of other presidential hopefuls five months removed from the May 2022 elections.

Lawyer Lorenzo Gadon on Sunday hit the camp of Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo for believing that the 2022 presidential poll would only be a two-way race between her and ex-senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

In a statement sent to the Manila Standard, Gadon said “it is a fight between Leni and (Manila Mayor) Isko (Moreno) for second place. BBM (Bongbong Marcos) is a runaway winner.”

“Robredo and her propaganda team could have wrongly evaluated the numbers laid down by Pulse Asia survey when they claimed that the 2022 presidential race is showing to be a fight between her and BBM,” he added.

He said the Vice President was misguided and ill-advised by her lawyer and spokesperson Ibarra Gutierrez. Moreno would only need 12 percent to be able to catch up with Leni’s 20 percent trial poll rating, Gadon stressed.

“Gutierrez’s unbridled and unfounded optimism is baseless at the very least and utopian at the most,” he said.
