Poll resos on guns, liquor, jobs issued

The Commission on Election (Comelec) has released six new resolutions containing the rules on the prohibitions on liquor, guns, and other issues.

Released by the Comelec en banc last week is Resolution 10741 containing the guidelines on the establishments and operation of checkpoints, and the ban for carrying firearms and other deadly weapons as well as engagement of security personnel.

It also issued Resolution No. 10747 containing the rules and regulations on prohibition against release, disbursement or expenditure of public funds and construction of public workers, and issuance of treasury warrants and similar devices.

Comelec also issued the guidelines on the liquor ban (Resolution No. 10746) and the deputization of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) and other law enforcement agencies to help in the conduct of the 2022 polls (Resolution No. 10743).

It also released the rules on the prohibition against appointment or hiring of new employees, giving salary increases, transfer of civil service employees, suspension of elective officials and filing of leave of absences of local treasurers (Resolution No. 10742).

It includes the compliance of the Omnibus Election Code by members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police (Resolution No. 10745).

All six resolutions were promulgated by the Comelec en banc on Dec. 16 as part of its preparations for the 2022 National and Local polls.
